    The case arose during the time when Mr.Hallam invested into Kunming environment industry with his partner, Jack Tan and doctor Sheng, in 2000.

    Although, the investment agreement provided that the registration of Sino- Canada joint venture should be supervised by a lawyer in Kunming, Mr.Hallam did not rely on any lawyer. This resulted in losing control of registration proceedings. According to the agreement, the registered investor shall be Hallams' Ltd, Mr.Hallam shall be the legal representative (president) of the joint venture.

    Unfortunately,Jack Tan cheat Mr.Hallam. He did not act according to the agreement, on the other hand, he show all the fraudulent document to the concerning Chinese registration officers. This resulted that all the joint venture registration certificates issued by Chinese government were against the agreement: The investor had been changed to Jack Tans' own company, not Hallams' Ltd, the president had been changed to be Jack Tan himself, not Mr.Hallam. From doing so, Mr.Hallam was deprived of all his legal rights in the joint venture By Jack Tan.

    Even worse after Mr.Hallam put money into the joint venture, half of the invested capital was stolen by the general manager of the joint venture, whom was recommended by Jack Tan. Mr.Hallam was very angry about their cheating and embezzling, so he came to our office.

    The situation was so bad but still could be saved. We settled the case very soon after collecting evidences and requiring Chinese government to correct the wrong registration. At last, the infringed assets had been controlled by us.
